Belsonic comes to an end with The Prodigy

The Prodigy are Belsonic-bound
As Belsonic draws to a raucous conclusion tonight with electro punk band The Prodigy we provide a guide to all you need to know and look back at a joyous month of music at Ormeau Park.

Apart from the showers at Wednesday night’s Florence and the Machine gig, the sun has shone over revellers to the South Belfast music festival this summer.

An eclectic line-up of musicians have entertained the masses of crowds of all ages – from veterans Lionel Richie and Tom Jones, through to young favorites Sam Fender and George Ezra.

An undoubted highlight was Grammy winning rapper Lizzo, who put on a truly memorable show in her warm-up to last weekend’s Glastonbury Festival. Flute playing and costume changes aplenty, as she was joined by a host of dancers in demonstrating some serious girl power.

Tonight, attention moves to The Prodigy as they make their long awaited return to Belfast for their first show here since the tragic death of Keith Flint in 2019.

Liam Howlett and Maxim will be joined once again by long-term live band members, guitarist Rob Holliday and drummer Leo Crabtree. DJ’s Andy C and Arveene are also on the bill.
