An accident on the main road between Ryde and Seaview has caused traffic disruption this evening (Monday, June 5).

Southern Vectis reported a collision at Thornton Cross (the junction of Appley Road, Puckpool Hill and Calthorpe Road) between Ryde and Seaview just after 6pm.

Police, paramedic and ambulance teams are on the scene, along with Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance.

Traffic is currently moving very slowly in the area (see below).

The Island bus provider's route eight has been diverted between Old Seaview Lane in Seaview and Thornton Cross.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary has been contacted for a statement.
