Warning after ‘four biker deaths in three days’ in Staffordshire

Police are asking drivers to remain vigilant after four biker deaths in just three days in Staffordshire. One of those fatalities happened when a motorcyclist collided with a lorry on the M6 between junctions 10A and 10 on May 18.

Paramedics tried to save the biker - who was in his 40s - but he was confirmed dead ^[1] at the scene. The motorway was closed for five hours following the crash.

Police have today warned others to be mindful and safe when out on the roads following the tragedies.

Staffordshire and West Midlands SCIU tweeted: "Sadly we’ve dealt with three collisions in three days in Staffordshire where four motorcyclists have lost their lives. Whilst we can’t comment on any of the investigations, as they’re ongoing, we’d urge everyone to be safe and vigilant out there on the roads."

Police-led motorcycle safety workshop, 'Biker Down', based in Staffordshire, said: "This is a truly horrific statistic. Thoughts are obviously with the families of the deceased but also for first responder colleagues. Each of these incidents will have been avoidable."
