Plymouth traffic chaos after two-vehicle crash

Plymouth buses are being diverted and one lane is closed after a crash. The incident on A379 Laira Bridge Road was first reported around 1.05pm.

Traffic and travel monitoring system, Inrix, reports one lane is closed and there is slow traffic as a result of the collision. It involves two vehicles near to the Faraday Mill Business Park turn off.

Inrix reports: “One lane closed and slow traffic due to accident, two vehicles involved on A379 Laira Bridge Road Westbound near Faraday Mill Business Park turn off. Affecting traffic into Plymouth.”

Plymouth Citybus tweeted: “Due to an accident at the junction of Laira Bridge and Finnigan Rd, the #PCB48[1] service is currently diverting via Cattedown Roundabout and Prince Rock. Apologies for any inconvenience caused by this.”

A second crash was reported at around 1.20pm on Barbican Approach. Inrix reports: “Barbican Approach in both directions partially blocked due to accident, a lorry and a car involved between The Premier Inn and The Car Dealership.

“Traffic is coping well. Specialist recovery is required.” However locals in the area report this crash has now cleared.
