Shop worker ‘threatened with knife’ as ‘thief’ leaves without paying

Police are appealing for information after a shop worker was threatened with a knife. The terrifying incident reportedly happened after a man left the store in Victoria Square[1], Wolverhampton[2], without paying.

And now officers have released an image of a man they want to find. The CCTV picture shows a man wearing dark sunglasses alongside a face mask and cap.

The ordeal took place at 6.30pm on Wednesday, April 19. A spokesperson for West Midlands Police[3] said: "Do you recognise this man?

"We're investigating after a shop worker was threatened with a knife as a man left without paying for goods at a store in Victoria Square, Wolverhampton, at 6.30pm on Wednesday, 19 April."

They added: "If you know who he is, please contact us via Live Chat on our website or call 101, quoting reference 20/198344/23. To tell us what you know, not who you are, speak anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
