Road closed after double-decker bus driven into Twerton railway …

A junction between the A36 Lower Bristol Road and Twerton High Street was closed yesterday evening, Thursday 4th May, after a bus was driven into a railway bridge.
The scene of the collision | Photo (C) Bath Echo Significant damage was caused to the front of the double-decker First bus, with police directing traffic away from the scene.
The bus has been significantly damaged | Photo (C) Bath Echo No casualties were reported in the collision, which occurred at around 6.30pm.
An investigation is now underway to determine the circumstances.

Photo (C) Bath Echo Trains going over the bridge were temporarily suspended following the incident, however were able to run again following an inspection by Network Rail.
The road is believed to have reopened at around 8.30pm.
