Motorcyclist dies at scene after single-vehicle crash

A motorcyclist who was injured in a single-vehicle crash near Street[1] yesterday (May 10) was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, police have confirmed.

Officers were called to Cockrod, in Walton near Street at around 2.20pm yesterday following reports of a crash that had involved a motorbike.

After police arrived at the scene, it was confirmed that the motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, had been pronounced dead.

The man's next of kin have been informed, with Avon and Somerset Police[3] adding that the family are currently being supported by a "specially-trained family liaison officer", and that their "thoughts are with the family during this difficult time."

A spokesperson for the force said: "Officers are keen to speak with anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident, or have dashcam or CCTV footage which could aid the investigation."
