M6 crash victim named as ‘devastated’ family pay tribute to ‘much …

The heartbroken family of a motorcyclist who died after a crash on the M6 has paid tribute to a ‘much-loved dad, son, brother, partner and friend’. Steven Dennett, of Admaston in Telford, died after his motorbike collided with a lorry on the southbound carriageway of the M6.

The collision took place near Junction 10, the turn off for Walsall[1] and Wolverhampton, last Thursday (May 18) shortly after 8am. He was found to be in a critical condition and was pronounced dead by paramedics a short time after the collision.

Now Steven’s ‘devastated’ family have issued a statement paying tribute to the 48-year-old. They said he ‘loved life’ and was ‘respected by all who met him’.

The family statement said: “Steve was a much-loved dad, son, brother, partner and friend. He was loved and respected by all who met him. Steve was an intelligent man who was always kind, thoughtful and generous.

“He loved life and found much joy in reading, walking with his dogs and music. As a family we are truly devastated and kindly ask that our privacy is respected at this time.”

Staffordshire Police said a file is being prepared to pass to the coroner. It said it was still appealing for witnesses to come forward as its collision investigation unit continue to look into the cause of the crash.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We are continuing to appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision to get in touch. Anyone with information or relevant dashcam footage is asked to contact us via Livechat on our website or call 101, quoting incident number 126 of 18 May.

“Alternatively, email the collision investigation unit directly at: [email protected][3].”
