A motorcyclist has tragically died in a crash on the M6 southbound[1] this morning. The motorway was closed from J11 for Cannock[2] and 10A for Wolverhampton[3] following the collision, which also involved a lorry.

Medics were called to the scene at 8.16am on Thursday, May 18, and found the man in a critical condition. Sadly, despite their efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene.

The M54 eastbound between J1 and the M6 was also closed following the crash.

Staffordshire and West Midlands Serious Collision Investigation Unit announced the carriageway had reopened at around 12.50pm, tweeting: “Road now reopened, thank you for your patience.”
