Loved ones to gather for funeral of ‘angel’ killed in horror smash
Mourners will bid their final farewell to an ‘angel’ who was killed in a horror crash. ‘Precious’ Aishwarya Nagar[1] was pronounced dead at the scene of a collision in Coleshill Road, Tamworth[2].
Three others were also injured and taken to hospital when two cars crashed on Thursday, May 4. Loved ones are now set to say their last goodbyes to the 20-year-old this weekend.
Prayers will take place at her family’s home in Knowle Hill, Hurley – near Kingsbury – from 9.15am on Saturday, May 20. A service will then be held at Birmingham Crematorium, in Perry Barr, from 12.30pm.
Details of her funeral were posted to the Gujarati Arya Association Greater Manchester Facebook page on Wednesday, May 17. It comes after her uncle made an emotional vow[4] to look after Aishwarya’s family in the wake of her death.
The post read: “Please be advised that the funeral of our dearest Aishi has been arranged for Saturday, May 20, 2023. Darshan and prayers will be held at the family residence at 9:15 am.
“Hearse will leave residence at 9:45 am. Thereafter to Birmingham Crematorium at 12:30 pm.” Aishwarya – known to friends and family as Aishi – was driving a black Vauxhall Corsa when it collided with a white BMW at about 11.10pm on the day of her death.
Tributes poured in for the much-loved woman after she died. Uncle Sandip Nagar described her as a ‘beautiful angel’ who was ‘taken too soon’.
Other family members also paid tribute to her, describing her as ‘precious to all’. A 17-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the Corsa, and a woman in her 30s, who was in the BMW, were taken to hospital after being injured in the crash.
The driver of the BMW, a man in his 30s, was also taken to hospital.
