Lorry crashes into railway bridge in North Walsham in Norfolk
The heavy goods vehicle collided with the bridge in Norwich Road, near Station Road, at around 7.40am on Monday (May 22).
The crash caused significant damage to the trailer of the lorry, and police attended the scene.
The incident led to heavy traffic in both directions.
It also blocked the North Walsham rail line between Norwich and Sheringham.
The 08.21 Norwich to Sheringham and 09.43 Sheringham to Norwich Greater Anglia services were cancelled earlier this morning.
A Greater Anglia spokesperson said: “We are sorry for the disruption between Norwich and Sheringham this morning.
“This was due to a vehicle hitting a bridge in the North Walsham area at 07.40am today.
“Rail replacement buses were in operation while Network Rail inspected the bridge and the line re-opened at 08.50.
“There have been some knock-on delays and cancellations, but services were back to normal from 10.40.”
