Local demolition company celebrates 13 years in business

Demolition recently undertaken by HWM at Campbell Road railway sidings.

A local demolition company recently engaged on a major construction project in the heart of Eastleigh is celebrating its thirteenth year in business.

Otterbourne-based HWM Group have demolished buildings and prepared the ground at Campbell Road railway sidings in order to ready the site for construction of the forthcoming Solent Freeport Navigator Quarter.

The company which specialises in demolition, contaminated soil solutions and groundworks demolished six outbuildings and safely removed the asbestos materials that had been used in their construction.

When completed, the Navigator Quarter will be a strategically located business park situated adjacent to Southampton Airport and Eastleigh Railway works. The development, built over a mix of brownfield and greenfield sites, will offer businesses new opportunities for growth and expansion. Companies opting to locate within the quarter will enjoy a significant advantage in the form of a five-year tax break. It’s hoped that this attractive incentive, coupled with Eastleigh’s exceptional road, rail, and air connectivity, will make the Navigator Quarter a prime destination for companies looking to relocate in the South.

Other local projects the company has undertaken recently includes the demolition of the Queens Head pub at Colden Common in order to make way for a new retirement home.

Highlighting the company’s commitment to sustainable practices and environmental preservation, HWM Group Director Chris Lynch said:

We take great pride in delivering our services to the highest standards while ensuring sustainability and respect for the environment. Recycling and reusing materials on-site are at the core of our work philosophy.

Mr Lynch further emphasised their expertise in the removal and cleaning of contaminated soil, making them market leaders in the treatment of hazardous and non-hazardous substances, both on-site and at their specialized facilities.

To mark reaching their latest milestone HWM have launched a new website[1] highlighting their involvement in key local construction projects like Eastleigh’s Navigator Quarter and their role in driving progress and promoting responsible development.
