Live traffic updates as lorry sheds load at key city roundabout

A lorry carrying scaffolding has shed its load on a roundabout on the outskirts of Derby, with a woman having to dive out of the way according to one witness. The incident on Little Eaton Island[1] was first reported to Derbyshire Live at 1.15pm today (Tuesday, May 23).

The lorry appears to have shed its load as it entered the roundabout from the A61[2], spilling a number of scaffolding poles in the outside lane. A video shown to Derbyshire Live shows members of the public moving the poles from the road as traffic travels carefully around the incident.

It is unknown if any emergency services are present to help with traffic. Derbyshire Live has approached Derbyshire police for more information on this ongoing incident.
