Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival to return after successful debut
A popular Lincolnshire festival is returning after a successful first year. Lincolnshire Wolds Outdoor Festival, complete with more than 150 events and activities, will back for its second year from this weekend (Saturday, May 20).
The event, which will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Wolds being named an ‘area of outstanding natural beauty,’ will run for three weeks until Sunday, June 11. Karen Edwards, place officer at East Lindsey District Council[1], said it will provide residents with ‘some memorable and unique opportunities’ to get outdoors and explore.
She said: “I hope that people will come and enjoy the vast selections of planned activities and events, perhaps try something new or visit somewhere you’ve always wanted to, whilst experiencing the incredible surroundings of the Wolds.” Activities will include clay pigeon shooting, horse-riding, hiking, guided tours and gliding.

There will also be pop-up Nature Labs in marketplaces around East Lindsey, starting in Louth on Saturday 27 May and also visiting Spilsby, Alford, Wainfleet and Market Rasen[3]. Though most activities will be free of charge, they will require booking in advance[4].
The festival will kick off with an open weekend at South Ormsby Estate, which began life as a Roman settlement in the first century.
The three-week event has been organised by a collaborative group that includes the Ramblers, Lincolnshire Wolds Countryside Service, Active Lincolnshire, Stourton Estates, South Ormsby Estate Heritage Lincolnshire, Lincolnshire County Council, North Lincolnshire Council, North East Lincolnshire Council and East and West Lindsey district councils.
