Levi Davis: Police divers search Barcelona port for missing ex-Bath …

Police divers have started searching the port of Barcelona for missing ex-Bath Rugby player Levi Davis. It comes after a family statement claimed the 24-year-old may have drowned[1] off the coast of the city.

The Celebrity X Factor contestant was last seen at The Old Irish Pub, in Barcelona, on October 29, 2022. Police are also searching the Llobregat Delta – part of a river which lies to the south-west of the Spanish city.

A tweet from the Mossos d’Esquadra regional police force said: “We continue to investigate the disappearance of a man in Barcelona on October 29.

“We have activated the maritime police and the aquatic unit to search the port of Barcelona and the Llobregat Delta. The case remains open.”

Levi’s mum, Julie, said previously: “Extensive work has been done to track Levi’s movements on the night of the 29 October and they [the police] are able to confirm that following his last reported sighting at the Hard Rock Café, Levi walked back down La Rambla and entered the commercial port.

“Reports of a man in the water by staff on a cruise ship entering the port at 6.30am on 30 October have been investigated. Four members of staff confirmed seeing a man in the water with specific details, including him asking for help in English and the colour of his clothing.

“A life jacket was thrown from the ship and emergency Sea and Air rescue services searched the area but they were unable to find him.” Julie added the family was hoping the Port Police would authorise a search of the nearby waters.

Mr Davis appeared on ITV’s Celebrity X Factor in 2019, alongside fellow rugby stars Ben Foden and Thom Evans, in a singing group known as Try Star. He was also on E4’s Celebs Go Dating in 2020.

Mr Davis had signed a record deal and had gone to stay with his friend Richard Squire in Ibiza to work on some songs. Speaking to the BBC in March, Mr Squire said he had dropped Mr Davis off in Ibiza Town on October 28 and not seen him since.

He said Mr Davis had told him he was heading to Barcelona. Mr Davis told Mr Squire he would call when he arrived in Barcelona but never did.
