Firefighters tackle blaze after ‘piles of fly tipped rubbish’ set on fire

Fire crews have put out a blaze in the Black Country surrounded by 20 piles of fly tipped rubbish, it has been reported. They were called to Station Road and Warner Road in Coal Pool, Walsall[1], following a fire at the site.

Once there, firefighters tackled ‘bonfires’ of fly tipped waste. Taking to Twitter, a spokesperson for West Midlands Fire Service[2] hinted that this is not the first time they have been called out to this issue.

The Bloxwich[3] Fire Station account tweeted: “Once again, crews from bloxwich and @WMFSWalsall have been called to Bonfires of fly tipped waste on Station Road/Warner Road, Coalpool. There are currently over 20 piles of fly tipped waste.”

They added the hashtags and tags: “#Flytipping @WalsallCouncil @EnvAgency #cleangreentweet.” Alongside the tweet, they shared pictures of firefighters tackling one blaze.

They also posted thee separate images of piles of rubbish reportedly dumped at the site. One Twitter user replied: “How awful.”
