Fire crews called to blaze at poultry farm on Anglesey

A fire broke out at a poultry farm on Anglesey earlier this morning. The fire service was called to the blaze on a farm in the Dulas area, near Amlwch[1], just after 5.30am.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service[2] said the fire started in one of the sheds on the farm. An investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blaze.

No casualties have been reported at the time of writing and it is not yet known whether any animals have died. The BBC reported 9,000 chicks were being housed there.

A spokesperson for the fire service said: “We were called to a shed fire at a commercial poultry farm in Dulas, near Amlwch at 5.30am. Four appliances were sent from Amlwch, Benllech, Llangefni[4] and Menai Bridge.

“The fire was under control by 6.30am. Officers remain at the scene.”
