Engineering works to stop Sussex trains travelling to and from …

No Southern or Gatwick[1] Express trains will be running to or from London Victoria this upcoming Sunday (May 7), it has been announced. Due to planned engineering work at London Victoria station, a number of lines will be closed, meaning that some train operators will be unable to serve the station. A number of Sussex routes will be affected by this, including trains from East Grinstead, Gatwick Airport, Brighton,[2] Dorking, Horsham[3], Littlehampton[4], Bognor[5] and Worthing[6].

Gatwick Express services will not run. Southern Rail has said that rains on the Brighton, Eastbourne[7] / Ore, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton and East Grinstead[8] routes will be diverted to operate to and from London Bridge, “running to an amended timetable with some extended journey times” Trains on the Horsham route will also run to and from London Bridge. Train tickets to London Victoria will be able to be used on other services, including the London Underground, London Buses, South Western Railway, the London Overground and Southern/Thameslink services to and from Gatwick Airport.

Journey times are likely to take longer than usual and people have been advised to plan ahead.
