East Midlands Railway delays between Leicester and Kettering after …

Passengers faced delays of 45 minutes on trains between Leicester and Ketting on Sunday night (May 6). East Midlands Railway said the disruption was due to a points failure. The delays are to services in both directions.

It was first reported by the train company at just after 6.30pm. EMR said: "There is a points failure at Wigston. This is between Leicester and Kettering. and is disrupting our trains on the Intercity route.

Network Rail are aware of the points failure, they have a fault team now on site. "Trains running through the area in both directions will be delayed up to 45 minutes, between Leicester and Kettering." The train company said it was expecting the problem to be "fixed in the next two hours".

It said it expected services to resume to their advertised timetable by 8pm.
