Driver’s medical episode caused fatal A4130 collision
The collision on April 13 occurred on the A4130 as it passes through Brightwell-cum-Sotwell near the junction to Slade End towards the east of the village near Wallingford[1].
The driver suffered the episode and came to a stop on the 50mph road which resulted in a collision with another vehicle.
Police have confirmed that the driver died because of the episode rather than the collision.
The accident was one of three collisions on this stretch of road in just over a month.[3]
Another accident followed on April 24 near the Bell Lane exit when a vehicle was flipped, and there was a three-vehicle collision near the exit to Didcot[4] Road on April 29.
Oxfordshire County[5] Council has commissioned two speed surveys to take place in June.
