Busy NI road closed due to ‘serious’ crash involving motorcycle
A busy Co Antrim road has been closed following a “serious road traffic collision” involving a vehicle and a motorcycle. The Templepatrick[1] Road, Doagh, is closed. The Air Ambulance was sent to the scene.
A spokesperson for the PSNI[3] said: “Motorists are advised that the Templepatrick Road, Doagh, is closed between the junctions with Hillhead Road and Mill Road due to a serious road traffic collision. “Please seek an alternative route for your journey.” A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: “The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 16:38 on Sunday, May 7, following reports of a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a motorcycle on Hillhead Road, Ballyclare.
“NIAS despatched a Rapid Response Paramedic, two Emergency Crews, and an Ambulance Officer to the incident. “The charity Air Ambulance with HEMS crew on board was also tasked to attend.” The spokesperson added: “Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital.”
