Aerial footage as fire crews tackle shipping container blaze

Aerial drone footage captured the moment two fire[1] crews tackled a blaze in a shipping container. The fire broke out in the Londonthorpe area of Belton and Lincolnshire Police[2]'s drone team caught the incident on camera.

Residents were advised to keep their doors and windows shut while the fire was dealt with. At the time of the blaze on Tuesday, May 16, a spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said: "Grantham Fire Station and Sleaford Fire Station attended a fire in the open in the Londonthorpe area of Belton.

"Fire Service have now left the scene but will be carrying out regular inspections. Residents are advised to keep doors and windows shut."

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police's drone team tweeted: "Our colleagues @LincsFireRescue did a great job in quickly responding and containing this fire. @LincsPolice drone team are here to support partner agencies."

The footage showed what appeared to be a large number of boxes on fire inside a blue container.
