A55 traffic live updates as overturned lorry shuts road eastbound

The A55[1] is shut eastbound this morning (Friday, May 12) following a crash. The route is closed at Waen near St Asaph after the collision in which a vehicle has overturned.

Police have said drivers should exit the A55 at junction 28. Meanwhile Traffic Wales said the route will “remain closed for some time”.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police[2] said: “Road closure; due to a RTC the road is closed on the A55 Eastbound at Waen near St Asaph. Drivers are advised to exit the A55 at J28.”

Posting on Twitter, Traffic Wales said: “A55 eastbound J28 Waen to J29 Pant y Dulath is closed due to a collision and an overturned vehicle. The road will remain closed for some time for recovery to take place.Traffic is being diverted off at J28.”

Traffic monitoring service Inrix said the incident involved an overturned lorry. It said diverting motorists should travel via the B5429 through Rhuallt, continuing east on to the unclassified road to re-join the A55 at J29.
