A38 incident: Biker taken to hospital after ‘serious’ Tewkesbury crash

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital following a ‘serious’ crash in Tewkesbury overnight. Emergency services were called to the A38 Mythe Road in the town at approximately 10.20pm on Monday, May 15.

The crash involved a motorcycle and a car near the Boat House restaurant. A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police confirmed a road closure was in place at the junction with the A438.

The biker was taken for treatment at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. The spokesperson added the road was reopened at around 11.30pm.

They said: “We were called to the A38 Mythe Road in Tewkesbury at 10.20pm last night (Monday) following a report of a collision between a motorcyclist and car. The collision took place near to Boat House Restaurant and a road closure was put into place at the junction for the A438.

“The motorcyclist was taken to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital for treatment and the road reopened at around 11.30pm.”

Traffic monitoring and reporting system Inrix reported the A38 remained closed into the morning but a police spokesperson has since confirmed the road reopened at 11.30pm on Monday night.
