Wanted man at large after evading Meriden police helicopter

Hertfordshire Constabulary arrived at an address in Watford at around 4.10pm yesterday (April 5) to conduct “arrest enquiries” for a man who is wanted for failing to appear at court in connection with GBH and assault on an emergency worker charges. A man then fled the building and police scoured the area but were unable to find him. Chaotic scenes were reported in the Meriden area, particularly in The Gossamers, as the road was closed, a “large police presence” was seen, and one woman claimed a “man on the run” tried to enter her home.

Hertfordshire Constabulary confirmed they are still investigating and trying to find the man.
