Two injured and car flipped after three-vehicle collision near school
A three-vehicle crash outside a junior school on the Surrey border yesterday morning (April 17) left two people injured and one car on its roof. The incident is thought to have happened shortly after morning drop-off time. Police have now confirmed no serious injuries were sustained.
The driver of one vehicle – a grey Ford Mustang that flipped onto its roof – was taken to hospital with “minor injuries”. A second person – a pedestrian – is also said to have sustained “a minor injury”. Photos from the scene on Fernhill Road in Farnborough appear to show a roughly 300-metre roadblock from The Snow Goose pub to a traffic light crossing alongside Manor Junior School.
The images have also revealed a large emergency service response with two fire engines, an ambulance, and at least two police cars in attendance. A spokesperson for Hampshire Constabulary said: “We were called at 8.56am [yesterday] morning (Monday, April 17) to a report of a collision involving three vehicles on Fernhill Road, Farnborough.” They continued: “One of the vehicles, a grey Ford Mustang, came to rest on its roof. “The driver of this vehicle was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
A pedestrian was also reported to have sustained a minor injury. No other injuries reported. The road was blocked for a time.”
A witness who passed the scene while a “clear-up” was underway claimed they heard sirens “for a while” and believed the incident happened shortly before 9am. Recovery vehicles were later seen towing three damaged vehicles away, including the Ford Mustang that had stopped on its roof. Get more news from SurreyLive straight to your inbox for free HERE.[2]
