Two hospitalised after ‘altercation’ between pair in Bournemouth
Officers from Dorset Police[1] are asking witnesses to come forward following an alleged assault[2] that resulted in two people being hospitalised for treatment[3] last Sunday morning (April 9). Police confirmed they received reports of a disturbance at 9.15am, stating that two men had an altercation on Old Christchurch Road in Bournemouth[4] before one of them left the scene in a silver Kia Picanto. Officers attended and following enquiries, both men were taken to hospital for treatment.
A 28-year-old man from Bournemouth[6] was arrested on suspicion of assault and released on police bail. A 34-year-old man from Poole[7] was arrested and subsequently charged with attempted wounding with intent and possession of a knife/sharp pointed article in a public place. He has appeared at Poole Magistrates' Court on Monday 10 April 2023.
He is next due to appear on Thursday 11 May 2023 at Bournemouth Crown Court. Detective Sergeant Chris Bradford, of Bournemouth CID, said: "I believe that there were numerous members of the public present and some of which filmed the incident. "I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to please contact us as this could assist our investigation."
