Truck stuck under rail bridge on State Highway 2 in Manawatū

Emergency services have responded to a truck carrying a digger that became stuck under a rail bridge on State Highway 2.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson said crews were called to the event in Tararua about 3pm on Friday to help police with traffic control.

A police spokesperson said a report was received that a truck had hit a bridge on the highway near Eketahuna, near Newman Rd and Higginsons Rd.

"There were no injuries reported, but one lane was blocked.

The council had been notified to clean up some debris on the road," the spokesperson said.
