Road rage cause of stabbing that led to teenage boy’s arrest, police …

A 16-year-old Mississauga boy is facing an aggravated assault charge after allegedly stabbing a man in an apparent road rage incident, police say.

In a press release Friday, Peel Regional Police said officers responded to reports of a stabbing at a plaza parking lot near Eglinton Avenue West and Ridgeway Drive on Wednesday evening.

Police found a man with stab wounds; he was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The stabbing was the result of a “brief road rage incident in the parking lot,” according to the release.

Police said the teenager and the man did not know each other.

The teenager, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, turned himself in to police on Thursday.

He appeared in court for a bail hearing in Brampton.

Police are asking anyone with cellphone or dash cam video of the incident to contact them.
