Motorists have faced disruption on roads across the region today (April 1) as flooding hampers the great Easter getaway. Heavy rain this morning has seen some roads closed due to flooding and a number of accidents. The rain eased off later in the day with the weather[1] becoming overcast in the afternoon.

Roads are expected to be particularly busy this weekend as the Easter holidays begin.
