Police seek witnesses of serious car and cyclist crash in Norwich

Norfolk Police is seeking witnesses of a serious crash between a car and a cyclist in Norwich[1] this morning (Friday). Officers attended the scene shortly after 11am today (April 14). Attending at the junction between Aylsham Road and Woodcock Road, responders found an injured cyclist.

The teenage boy was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The male driver, who is in his 80s and was behind the wheel of a blue Vauxhall Astra was uninjured. Police say they are investigation the situation, and has based for anyone who saw the incident or has dash cam footage to come forward.

In a statement, Norfolk Constabulary[3] said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Norwich this morning (Friday 14 April 2023). Officers were called to the incident involving a cyclist and a car at the junction between Aylsham Road and Woodcock Road at 11.10am. “The cyclist, a teenage boy, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the blue Vauxhall Astra, a man in his 80s, was uninjured. “The investigation is in its early stages and the driver is helping officers with enquiries. No arrests have been made.
