Police seek overtaking driver who caused crash near Bicester
Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the minor injury road traffic collision near Middleton Stoney at around 3.20pm yesterday, April 22. A black Peugeot 207 and a black Volkswagen Polo collided on the B4030 between the village and Bicester[1] on the stretch between Bicester and the M40 overbridge. The crash hospitalised a man and a woman, both in their fifties, although both have since been discharged.
It is believed that the crash was caused after a small silver car overtook a lorry, and police want to speak to the lorry driver. Investigating officer PC Amy Boughton, of the Joint Operations Roads Policing Unit, said: “From our initial enquiries we believe this collision may have been as a result of another car, possibly silver and small in size, overtaking a lorry, which resulted in the Peugeot and Volkswagen colliding. “As a result we would like to speak to the lorry driver who may have information about what happened or dash-cam footage that could assist the investigation.
“We would also appeal to anyone else who may have witnessed or have dash-cam footage of the incident to please come forward.
“You can make a report by calling 101 or via the Thames Valley Police website, quoting reference 43230175118.”
