Pedestrian seriously injured in Wolverhampton road smash

A man has been seriously injured after a collision between a car and a pedestrian in Wolverhampton[1]. The crash took place on Tettenhall Road at 9.40pm yesterday, April 6. West Midlands Police[2] closed the road whilst emergency services responded to the incident.

The pedestrian, a 32-year-old man, was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. The driver of the vehicle, a 26-year-old man, was spoken to by officers at the scene. No arrests have been made but West Midlands Police is appealing for help with enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton at 9.40pm on 6 April to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian. “The road was closed while emergency services dealt with the collision. A 32-year-old man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

“A 26-year-old driver was spoken to by officers at the scene. We continue to investigate the collision and our enquiries are ongoing.” Wolverhampton Council warned last night the road was closed between Paget Road and Chapel Ash.

However it said Tettenhall Road had reopened by around 7am today, April 7.
