Newark Castle Station level crossing on Great North Road to close …

A town centre road will close overnight while maintenance works take place.

The restrictions are to enable Network Rail to carry out maintenance works on the level crossing at Newark Castle Station on the Great North Road, Newark.

This section of the road will close from 11.35pm tonight until 8.30am tomorrow morning.

A diversion is in place from the Great North Road, via the A46 Newark Bypass, onto Farndon Road, through the town centre on Victoria Street, Portland Street, Lombard Street, Castlegate and vice-versa.
