New CCTV image of suspect after shop worker assaulted

Dorset Police has released new CCTV images of a suspect in an attempted robbery at a shop in Bournemouth. At around 1.10am on Monday, January 2, a man is alleged to have attempted to steal from the Boscombe Convenience Store in Christchurch Road. He entered the store and approached a staff member, asking for money for the till.

He is then reported to have assaulted the staff member before leaving the shop empty handed. The victim sustained minor injuries in the attempted robbery but did not require hospital treatment. Detective Constable Laura Smith, of Bournemouth CID, said: "This was a very distressing incident for the victim, and we owe it to them to investigate all available lines of enquiry.

We have now obtained further CCTV images of the suspect and I am issuing these in the hope someone might recognise him. "I would urge anyone with information relating to this man's identity to please contact us."
