Man dead after crashing into transport truck on Highway 401: OPP
A car crashed into a disabled delivery truck that was parked on the right shoulder of Highway 401 between Highway 6 and Townline Rd. in Puslinch, Ont., on Thursday evening.
Ontario Provincial Police say a man has died after his vehicle crashed beneath a broken down transport truck on Highway 401 just south of Guelph on Thursday evening. In a video posted to Twitter, OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt says a disabled delivery truck was parked on the right shoulder of Highway 401 between Highway 6 North and Townline Rd. in Puslinch, Ont., when a car smashed into the back of it.

Officers say the man was pronounced dead at the scene. All westbound lanes of Highway 401 at Highway 6 North were closed for several hours as police investigated, but they have since reopened. Cambridge OPP and the Collision Reconstruction Unit continue to investigate the collision.

A man was then arrested for impaired driving and his vehicle was impounded.
