Major road shuts for hours as man fighting for his life after crash
A man is fighting for his life in hospital after a serious crash in Chadwell St Mary yesterday (April 26). The incident happened on Brentwood Road where emergency services were called shortly after 9pm following reports of the crash. Essex Police (EP), East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST), and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance (EHAAT) attended the scene.
A man was rushed to the hospital to Royal London Hospital in a serious condition. The road was partially closed as emergency services dealt with the incident. A spokesperson for the East of Englan Ambulance Service said: “Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Brentwood Road Chadwell shortly after 9pm last night.
One man was transported by road ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in a serious condition.”
Bus services were also affected by the partial road closure as Ensign Bus announced some alterations to bus route 77A on their social media pages. Buses that could reach people near Brentwood Road Estate were forced to continue on foot when they got to Cross Keys while the road closure was in place.
A spokesperson said: “Two ambulances, a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance officer vehicle and Essex and Herts Air Ambulance were called to Brentwood Road Chadwell shortly after 9pm last night. One man was transported by road ambulance to the Royal London Hospital in a serious condition.” Essex Police have been contacted for a comment.
