M62 lorry driver in hospital after crashing through central reservation

A man has been hospitalised and a stretch of the M62 remains closed after a lorry crashed through the central reservation. Police officers from Humberside Police were called to reports of the crash at 6.30am this morning, Tuesday, April 11. The reports were of a single-vehicle collision on the M62 westbound.

A lorry travelling eastbound had crashed into the central reservation and had crossed over onto the westbound side of the motorway. It had been tipped on its side. A man was taken to hospital with his injuries, although the police do not believe they are life-threatening.

The M62 westbound is currently still closed. Humberside Police said: "Officers were called to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision on the M62 westbound at around 6.30am this morning (Tuesday 11 April). "It is reported that a lorry travelling eastbound had been in collision with the central reservation barrier, crossing over onto the westbound carriageway.

"A man was taken to hospital to receive treatment for his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time. "The westbound carriageway remains closed between junctions 34 and 35. "If anyone has information regarding this incident, you can contact us on 101, quoting log 53 of 11 April."
