M62 horror footage shows terrifying moment lorry is blown over …

A driver has shared this dashcam footage of the terrifying moment a lorry was blown over on the M62[1] in strong winds on Tuesday night (April 11). The HGV can be seen tipping over and crashing onto the ground, sliding across all three lanes of the motorway[2] and hitting the central reservation. The incident happened at around 7.17pm yesterday.

A spokesperson for National Highways said the vehicle was blown over in 40mph gusts of wind, however only one 'minor injury' was reported, says M.E.N.[3][4] National Highways North West announced that two lanes were closed on the westbound carriageway between J22 and J21 after the collision with traffic officers called out to the scene, they announced the update on Twitter. They said: "Lanes 2 and 3 of (3) are closed on the #M62 westbound between J22 (#Huddersfield) and J21 (#Rochdale) due to a collision involving an overturned HGV. #TrafficOfficers are on scene, with recovery agents and contractors en route.

Please take extra care due to the weather conditions."
