Lorry diver arrested on suspicion of drug driving after crash that …
One man was arrested on suspicion of drug driving following the crash which closed part of the M27 on Monday (April 3). As reported, Hampshire Police were called at 7.44am yesterday to the M27[1] westbound between junctions 2 (Salisbury) and 3 (M271) following the incident involving two lorries. Both eastbound and westbound routes were confirmed to be closed between J2 and J3 at around 8.15am on Monday with emergency services, including an air ambulance, on the scene.
However, the eastbound carriageway quickly reopened, while a two-lane closure was implemented westbound. While only minor injuries were reported to those involved, Hampshire Roads Policing Unit later confirmed that one of the lorry drivers, a 53-year-old man from Portsmouth, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drug driving[2] and later released under investigation. All lanes along the M27 reopened around 10am on Monday.
