The incident happened on a stretch of the motorway near Stafford, Staffordshire, on Sunday morning. National Highways reported the crash shortly after 11.45am. Miraculously, the driver of the lorry was able to exit the vehicle after the crash and was treated at the scene for injuries not believed to be serious.
He was later taken to hospital.

It is understood the lorry overturned and caught fire.
Traffic was halted in both directions between junction 12 for Cannock and junction 13 for Stafford as the emergency services attended the scene.
