Lorry strikes railway bridge in Cornwall closing road by A30

A lorry has struck a railway bridge in Cornwall this evening. The A3047 in Scorrier closed in both directions due to the incident. Traffic is apparently coping well but the road is closed from B3298 to a stretch of the road near the A30[1].

Trains running through the section are not currently affected. The collision was first reported by traffic monitoring system Inrix at 7pm tonight (Saturday 8 April). The crash has caused damage to the top of the lorry.

There is also a build up of traffic forming at the junction between the Crossroads House Care Home and the road towards St Day.

There are a few Devon and Cornwall Police[2] officers on the scene.
