M1 crash between J24a and J25 causes 4 miles of queues …

Traffic was stopped on a stretch of the M1 following a crash. The northbound carriageway between J24a and J25 for Nottingham was shut just before 7.30am on Tuesday, April 25. Two lanes were closed after a collision involving a car and lorry, traffic monitoring site Inrix said.

There was also queueing traffic. National Highways said in a tweet: “Traffic has been STOPPED on the #M1 northbound in #Nottinghamshire between J24a (#A50, #Derby) and J25 (#Nottingham) due to a collision. Our Traffic Officers are on scene.”

This was then reduced to one lane, before the road eventually fully re-opened at around 9.30am.

National Highways said some “minor delays” remained on the road after the re-opening.
