Landmark Coalville hotel addresses closure speculation as site is …

A landmark Coalville[1] hotel has denied it is closing down for good after the business was put up for sale. The Hermitage Park Hotel issued the message after rumours swelled in the community about its future in town. The hotel in Whitwick Road, has been a mainstay of the Coalville community for decades and is seen as one of the town’s key venues.

However, the site was put up for sale last year[2], raising questions about the building’s future, with rumours spreading that the hotel was to close down. However, bosses at the hotel have wholeheartedly denied the suggestion in a strongly worded statement, insisting they are staying put. The hotel said: “We have heard that there may be some confusion as to whether the Hermitage Park hotel is closing due to the potential sale of ownership.

Nothing is changing apart from the ownership of the hotel.” The sale listing confirms the hotel’s current owner is retiring, which is why it’s been put on the market. Would-be buyers are told they will have the “opportunity to further develop the business” if they secure a deal on the building.

The hotel has 28 en-suite bedrooms, a bar and restaurant[4] as well as conference room. There are also 40 parking spaces, while the exterior is known for its steel frame conservatory. Despite the sale, the Hermitage Park Hotel team confirmed business was continuing.

It added: “We would like to assure everyone that the Hermitage Park is fully open for business and will be continuing to do so. All management and bookings are completely unaffected and we would be delighted to take any future bookings to host your events in 2023/24.” More information about the hotel can be found on Rightmove.
