Footage shows bin lorry crash on A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road in …

Dashcam footage has captured the moment a car collided with a bin lorry on a dual carriageway hit by roadworks. A woman was injured in the crash on A2070 Bad Munstereifel Road in Ashford[1], which closed the westbound route for about three hours yesterday afternoon[2]. In the video, a silver Peugeot can be seen going onto the A2070 from the Finberry estate, before drifting into the path of the bin lorry.

Damage on the driver’s side door of the car can be seen and other motorists stop to come to the woman’s aid.

The crash happened just before 2.30pm and emergency services stayed at the scene until about 5pm.

Police say the woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and she was taken to the nearby William Harvey Hospital.

The Finberry junction is being upgraded as part of the long-running ‘Bellamy Gurner’ project – which has seen the former Orbital Park roundabout replaced by traffic lights.

Once complete, Finberry residents will be able to turn right onto the A2070 for the first time, but the project has been delayed numerous times.
