Bus routes that are changing numbers even though they’re staying …

It has been confirmed that two London bus routes are changing their numbers despite following the exact same journey and stopping at exactly the same spots. TFL have now confirmed that two of the London busses will now see their numbers change, and it could leave passengers very confused. In an announcement which also saw the 507 and 511 bus routes terminated, TFL also confirmed that the existing route 332 will be changed to 16 and that the N16 will be renamed route N32.

The statement read: “Existing route 332 – between Paddington and Brent Park, Superstores – will be replaced by revised route 16. “Revised route 16 will serve all of the same stops as former route 332, and most of the same stops as existing route 16, between Paddington and Brent Park, Superstores. It will not run between Edgware Road and Victoria.”

Transport For London also advised that passengers “use newly re-routed bus 6 (24 hour) instead”, and issued the below alternative.

  • From Brent Park beyond Edgware Road towards Victoria use revised route 16 (formerly 332) and alight at stop EC outside Edgware Road station. Wait at the same stop for newly re-routed bus 6 (24 hour) to Victoria.
  • From Victoria beyond Edgware Road towards Brent Park use newly re-routed bus 6 (24 hour) and alight at stop EP at Orchardson Street. Wait at the same stop for revised route 16 (formerly 332) towards Brent Park, Superstores.

TFL’s statement continued: “Route N16 – currently running between Victoria and Edgware – will be renamed route N32 and will serve all the same stops.”

The changes are set to come into place on Saturday 29 April. TFL claimed that in making “major changes” to some of the capital’s bus routes in and around Central London, will in turn help deal with increase demand and deliver value for money and allow us to invest in outer London.
