Burscough road blocked in both directions after lorry and car crash
A busy road in West Lancashire is blocked in both directions following a crash. Emergency services are at the scene on School Lane in Burscough[1] after a collision between a lorry and a car. The incident was first reported shortly before 9am today (April 5).
Lancashire Constabulary[2] posted a warning to motorists on social media. It read: *ROAD TRAFFIC COLLISION* We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on School Lane, Burscough. The road is currently blocked due to the collision.
We will update you in due course.” A force spokesperson confirmed to LancsLive that the crash involved a lorry and a car and was reported at 8.54am. It has been classed as ‘damage only’ and no injuries have been reported.
The closure remains in effect as officer wait for both vehicles to be recovered. Traffic monitoring service Inrix said: “School Lane in both directions blocked due to accident between Carr Lane and A59 Liverpool Road North. Traffic is coping well.”
