BMW driver, 76, who died in Peak District lorry crash named
A man who died in a collision on the A515 in the Peak District has been named. John Kenneth Drabble of Swadlincote[1], who was known to friends as Ken, was driving a BMW X1 when the crash happened. The collision, involving Mr Drabble's vehicle and an HGV, occurred near the turn-off for Biggin at around 3.30pm on Tuesday, March 28.
Mr Drabble, 76, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the HGV, a man in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving[2]. He has been released under investigation as enquiries continue.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing and detectives would still like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident - in particular anyone driving in the area with dashcam footage. The A515 was closed between Fenny Bentley and Newhaven whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.
