Baby taken to hospital following A4 crash near Chippenham
A baby was taken to hospital to be checked over following a crash on the A4 that happened this morning[1] (April 25). Officers from Wiltshire Police[2] were called to the scene at around 10.50am, to reports of a crash that involved three vehicles[3] on the A4 at the Chequers roundabout near Chippenham[4]. Although no injuries were reported in the event, which had blocked off the key Wiltshire route[5], they confirmed that a baby was taken to hospital so that it could be checked over by medical staff.
Almost two and a half hours later, at around 1.45pm, it was confirmed that the route had reopened after the blockage had been cleared. A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police said: “At around 10.50am this morning (25/04) we responded to a three vehicle road traffic collision on the A4 at the Chequers roundabout. “There were no reported injuries, however a baby was taken to hospital to be checked over.
“The road was closed to allow for recovery of the vehicles and has since reopened.”
