Air ambulance called as motoryclist taken to hospital after crash

A motorcyclist was taken to hospital following a crash involving two vehicles near a Nottinghamshire village. A motorcyclist and driver in a 4×4 vehicle were involved in a road traffic collision on Sunday, April 16. The incident occurred in Normanton Lane, Stanford on Soar, near Loughborough, and was attended to by East Leake Fire Station.

In a Facebook post, the fire station stated: “Ex-watch manger Torr on scene first. S30P1 and East Leake Fire Station[1] arrived and rendered care to the motorcyclists, luckily our appliance had a off duty Paramedic riding today. “Air and land ambulance arrived and took over treatment and transported to local trauma centre.” The road remained closed for some time following the incident.

A spokesperson for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue[2] has since said: “We were called at 1.09pm on Sunday 16 April. A motorcyclist had been involved in a head on collision. “The casualty was taken to hospital by ambulance conscious and breathing with two broken legs.”
